Mariposa Energia supplied us with solar panels in September 2022. It has been exactly 9 months since the installation of the panels and six months of full use of the panels since we moved in after the renovation was completed. Thus, we have wintered in the house, survived the rainy season and cloudy days, and we think it is time to share objective information about the results of our use of the fruits of Mariposa Energia’s labour.
We chose the company to install an alternative energy source back in July 2022, when we heard an interview with Anna Armanshina, the Russian-speaking representative of Mariposa Energia, on RusRadioMarbella (106.2 fm). In addition to her personal charm, Anna demonstrated excellent knowledge of the subject.

We contacted Anna via WhatsApp. After asking us for the necessary initial data, Anna calculated the approximate consumption of our electricity. And after finding out the technical characteristics of the roof of our house (insolation level and the area available for solar panels) she sent us a plan for the placement of panels and a commercial proposal prepared by the engineer.
After that we had our first meeting. Anna came to our site and took the necessary measurements and photos herself. During the communication Anna assured us that she would be personally assisting at all stages of the panels installation, and in the future she would provide us with the necessary assistance. Thus, the opportunity to have support in Russian from a knowledgeable and responsible representative of the installer was a decisive moment for us in choosing a service provider.
The next step was our meeting with Anna at the Mariposa Energia office in San Pedro de Alcantara. The stylish and cosy office and the pleasant and friendly team of the company were very welcoming and trustworthy. During our dialogue with Anna we were once again convinced of the solidity of the company she represented and of the legal thoroughness of the documents prepared for signing for the works.
The company undertook the legalisation and registration of the installed solar panels in accordance with legal requirements with no extra charge. An additional bonus was a package of services that included support and counselling in Russian during the entire warranty period.
In the end, all this positive information inspired us to sign the contract and pay the first half of the agreed amount.

In September the company started to install the panels on the agreed date. Anna arrived at the site at the beginning of the work, introduced us to the installers and initiated us into all the details of the upcoming process. It has to be said that the roof of our house was not an easy object and it took several days to carry out all the work. But the installers Jesus and Santigo proved to be real professionals and coped brilliantly with the steep high roof, with the installation of the inverter, and with the configuration of the system control via Wi-Fi, and all the work was done beautifully and elegantly, even the wires coming down from the roof to the inverter on the ground floor were masterfully disguised and did not spoil the facade of the house.
I must say that Anna’s work was not easy either: it was difficult to carry out preliminary calculations of our actual electricity consumption, as the renovation of the house had not been completed, and collecting the necessary data for the subsequent registration of the solar panel installation was complicated by the fact that the previous owner of the house, for objective reasons, could not provide us with the invoices of electricity consumption for the previous period. But Anna coped well with all the problems that arose, sending official requests to the company of the electricity supplier to provide us with the necessary invoices for the past period.

The system was launched and we received a friendly email from the Customer Relations Director, with a link to download the mobile app, instructions and the necessary passwords. The mobile app allowed us to start tracking the solar panel system and analysing its performance.
Whenever there were questions related to the app, Anna came to our aid, and if we needed help from the company’s specialists in maintaining the system, we just had to write to Anna and the company’s employees would promptly arrive and perform all the necessary actions quickly and efficiently.
The work on obtaining the necessary permits and legalisation of the installed system in the energy company was also carried out quite quickly.
As for the efficiency of using the solar energy we received, we are convinced that solar panels really help to reduce electricity costs by times. In winter we often used electric batteries, air conditioners for heat, the pool cleaning system was constantly running, and many other electrical equipment was also used, but the total cost was even less than what we paid for the same winter period last year when we just lived in the apartment areas. With the onset of warmth and the lengthening of the daylight hours, the amount we pay in our bills has become almost symbolic, despite the fact that we actively use electricity for household needs.

And finally, one curious story to prove that we were not wrong in our choice of company. At the moment when we were installing solar panels, one of our neighbours asked for the phone number of the company that carried out the work. And in the end, having considered that the services of the company we had chosen were too expensive, he chose other specialists. We then watched how long and with what interruptions the installation of panels on the roof of the neighbour’s house was going on… And recently at a meeting Anna told us that after some time this man called her again and asked Mariposa Company to undertake the redoing of the poor quality work done by those whom he had preferred to install panels on his house. Unfortunately, Mariposa had to refuse the job because, as Anna explained, it is almost impossible to redo someone else’s work of this kind: you can only tear it all down and do it all over again.
So for those who are thinking about installing solar panels and are looking for the right company, this story is just about how not every company can be trusted, and a low price for such a job is no reason to be lucky. But we were lucky: we made the right choice! And now we can confidently and responsibly recommend the Mariposa Energia team to others.
