Solar batteries
When it comes to installing solar panels, there are two main options: a standard solar panel installation or an installation with batteries. Which option is right for you will depend on your individual circumstances.

Standard solar panel installation
Solar panels need sunlight in order to produce
electricity. It doesn’t need to be a clear sunny day, solar
panels can also produce electricity on an overcast day,
but they only generate energy during daylight hours.
With a standard solar panel installation you will need
to draw some electricity from the National Grid to
power your home during the night. However, you can
also sell any surplus solar energy you produce during
the day back to the National Grid.
Solar installation with batteries
With the addition of a solar battery you can store up
the solar energy produced during the day so that it can
be used during the night when your solar panels are
not producing electricity.
Solar batteries are becoming more and more popular
with solar panel installations, especially as the price of
the batteries has reduced considerably in recent years.
